A nickname inscribed in a child’s handwriting on the label of the iconic bottle. A sillage that resonates like a burst of laughter: joyful, spontaneous and deliciously nostalgic. Kurky – an outlier in the Maison’s collections – will surprise you. And that’s exactly what it was designed to do. Astonish. Stand out. Defy our expectations and captivate our adult minds with its childlike spirit.
“All grown-ups were once children… but only few of them remember it,” said Saint-Exupéry’s Little Prince. Like an antidote to this tendency to forget, Kurky is a childhood fragrance created for adults. An invitation to dare, to experience life through a rainbow of colors. To awaken the remnants of insouciance and passion that lie buried deep within us.
A child’s take on fragrance
Can we remain children when we are adults? Yes, replies Francis Kurkdjian, who a few years ago created the only scented bubbles available on the market. For him, childhood is not a question of age, but a way of experiencing the world. An ability to be amazed. To dream. To dare.
An atypical fragrance in the Maison’s collections, Kurky was born just like that: spontaneously. A burst of pure creativity and freedom, without too much deliberation or scrutiny. The idea simply came to the perfumer’s mind, completely out of the blue.
“To be a child is to look at the clouds and ponder their shape rather than wondering if it’s going to rain. It means not taking life – or yourself – too seriously. Kurky is the fragrance for grown-ups who dare to dream like kids.”
Francis Kurkdjian
A carefree scent
Let’s forget about the serious side of traditional olfactory families, just for a moment. And because we have to put Kurky somewhere, let’s say it is a “fruity plush toy.” A fragrance that smells like candy, but not too fruity or gourmand – just enough to make your mouth water. A tempting perfume, like a sweet treat to be savored with both the eyes and the nose.
Let’s also forget about classic fragrance structures and how the notes evolve from top to middle to base. Kurky is a scent that instantly reveals itself exactly as it is, like a big grin and a rush of positivity. It features a mouth-watering, creamy tutti-frutti accord – the aroma of a box of candy. Its musky, slightly vanilla sillage is as reassuring as the scent of clean skin. An addictive fragrance that instantly allures and captivates – and is not easily forgotten. A bit like a nursery rhyme that you hum with a smile.
It is a carefree fragrance that conveys an insatiable desire for freedom.

“Kurky is here to remind us that there is no age limit for nurturing one’s inner child.”
Francis Kurkdjian
A whirlwind of colors
Kurky’s joyous and colorful aesthetic brings a touch of whimsy to the Maison’s graphic codes.
The packaging was directly inspired by Francis Kurkdjian’s childhood. When he rediscovered a small box of Jordan almonds he received growing up , he decided to reproduce its stripes. To these he added personal drawings, inspired by his inner child.
Inside the box, the Maison’s iconic bottle stays true to itself… almost. More luminous than ever, the transparent glass features a peach-colored lacquer finish, while the name Kurky appears in cursive on the label – in a child’s handwriting, of course.
